Seeds 1-6 plus the two play-in winners play a full double-elimination bracket over five days. A team must lose twice to be eliminated. The tournament concludes Sunday with the championship game.

The tournament champion automatically earns one of 31 conference auto-bids to the NCAA Tournament. The remaining 33 spots are at-large selections — strong tournament runs by lower-seeded teams can flip their bubble status from out to in.
